Hi, I’m Macy Fong. For two decades, I've had the privilege of leading great teams creating successful products, services, brands, and businesses.

As Director of Product Design at Albertsons Companies, I lead design and product teams focused on grocery delivery and pickup experiences for millions of customers and associates across digital and retail ecosystems. We use design thinking and rapid prototyping to inspire and align teams throughout the enterprise. Our focus on human-centered design, impeccable craft, and continuous iteration has created significant improvement in customer satisfaction and business performance.

My leadership is rooted in a strong UX foundation and scaled through vision, strategy, and execution. I excel at aligning design with company goals, influencing product direction, and fostering a culture of collaboration, craft, and continuous learning. From shaping product roadmaps to partnering with VP and C-suite leaders, I ensure design plays a strategic role across the organization—helping teams move faster, smarter, and with greater empathy.

I’m passionate about building inclusive, forward-looking design organizations that deliver exceptional experiences and long-term value. I’m now focused on expanding my impact at the senior leadership level—driving design excellence, operational maturity, and innovation at scale.

In addition to my current role in Online Grocery, Food Systems, and Innovation, I’ve worked and consulted across various retail industries to identify new business opportunities and craft market-leading customer experiences.

eCommerce / Online Grocery
At Walmart eCommerce, I was Lead Product Designer on strategic initiatives like Free 2-Day Shipping, same-day delivery, and omnichannel services such as Pickup and Pickup Discount. I helped shape the One App, led the next-gen mobile redesign, and worked on key efforts around Customer Location and the Consumables strategy. My approach combined systems thinking, customer insights, and close product collaboration to deliver impactful, scalable solutions.

Online Fashion / Brand Identity & Positioning
Earlier, as Creative Director at TOBI, a leading online fashion company. I defined and evolved the brand’s visual identity across all touchpoints—from packaging and web to social and product. I partnered with product and engineering to deliver scalable eCommerce solutions that balanced brand, usability, and speed.

Retail / CPG / Monetization Strategies
I also served as Associate Creative Director at PureRED (now part of Inspired Thinking Group), leading branding, advertising, and digital initiatives for top retail clients including Safeway, Old Navy, Walgreens, and Michaels. I directed creative teams, styled packaging photo shoots, and delivered integrated campaigns across fast-paced retail cycles.

My design journey began as an intern at Wieden + Kennedy. I hold a B.F.S. in Journalism with an emphasis in Advertising and Business from the University of Oregon. I’ve also pursued professional education with certifications in Visual Design from DeAnza College, Product Design training from Silicon Valley Product Group, and Design Research Techniques from Cooper Professional Education.

Outside of design, I find inspiration in nature, especially in my favorite places: Lake Tahoe and Kauai. They keep me grounded and creatively refreshed.
